Patient Chief Concern
The patient complains of servere protusion of the maxillary anterior teeth. clinical findings reveal an increase overjet between the upper and lower anteriors, accompanied by marked eversion of the lower lip. the maxillary incisors are protrusive, with tooth 11 being blocked out (labially displaced). furthermore, there is servere crowding in the mandibular anterior region, with tooth 42 blocked in (lingually displaced). The mandibular canines ar also rotated and malpositioned.
What learning would you share with other Invisalign providers?
Applying the G6 protocol in such extraction and retraction cases remains highly effective. However, care must be taken to avoid incorporating an overly deep Curve of Spee. Furthermore, close attention should be paid to the lower anterior teeth, as controlling their root angulation can be challenging. Therefore, continuous monitoring and appropriate adjustments are essential.
What contributed most to this treatment being successful?
The patient demonstrated excellent compliance and was highly diligent in wearing intermaxillary elastics, which contributed to the smooth and successful completion of the treatment.
