Invisalign is orthodontic appliance that can effectively achieve both arch expansion and proper torque of teeth For patients with a severe deep bite, to prevent relapse, the intrusion of the anterior teeth can be overcorrected to an edge-to-edge relationship, and the molar occlusion can be designed to be strong.
What contributed most to this treatment being successful?
The patient presented with a narrow arch and teeth were displaced from the arch alignment with rotation. Additionally, both the maxillary and mandibular canines and posterior teeth were severely inclined lingually. The treatment plan included arch expansion in both arches. For lingually inclined teeth, buccal torque was applied to achieve proper torque. Due to the presence of a deep bite, anterior intrusion and posterior extrusion were performed. By the time the final stage of the primary order was reached, the overbite had been overcorrected toward an edge-to-edge relationship, and the posterior occlusion was designed to be settled.
