Patient Chief Concern
Protruded anterior teeth
What learning would you share with other Invisalign providers?
In the event that crowding is present in one arch and the opposing has spacing, IPR can be performed on both arches to achieve an acceptable Bolton ratio.
What contributed most to this treatment being successful?
Patient presented with anterior protrusion, minimal overjet (close to an edge-to-edge bite), maxillary crowding, and mandibular spacing. IPR was performed on the upper and lower anterior teeth. A total of four TADs were inserted on the buccal side between the first and second molars. Elastics were applied between the TADs and the precision hooks on the canines to facilitate anterior retraction. On the upper, crowding and rotation were resolved through IPR, while anterior retraction was achieved using TADs. On the lower, the anterior spaces were closed while simultaneously achieving anterior retraction with the help of TADs.
