Patient Chief Concern
Deep bite, misaligned teeth
What learning would you share with other Invisalign providers?
Even if the anterior teeth are restored with laminate prostheses, Invisalign aligners can achieve excellent results. In severe deep bite cases, the issue can be resolved through anterior intrusion, and setting the bite to an edge-to-edge position helps prevent overbite relapse.
What contributed most to this treatment being successful?
In this patient, the maxillary six anterior teeth had been restored with laminates, and a severe deep bite was present. To address the deep bite, intrusion of both the maxillary and mandibular anterior teeth was planned. Buccal torque was applied to the maxillary and mandibular anterior teeth, which were inclined palatally and lingually, to achieve proper torque and overjet. In the final stage of the primary order, an edge-to-edge bite was established to prevent overbite relapse. Additionally, intermolar width was expanded to resolve crowding and improve the arch form.
