Patient Chief Concern
Protruded anterior teeth
What learning would you share with other Invisalign providers?
Even without extractions or insertion of TADs, the treatment of protruded teeth can be effectively achieved using aligners alone. Additionally, by placing ghost attachments on the occlusal surfaces of the posterior teeth, intrusion of posterior teeth and open bite correction can be successfully accomplished.
What contributed most to this treatment being successful?
The patient had a mild anterior open bite and overall protruded anterior teeth. To address the open bite, posterior intrusion was necessary, which was achieved by placing ghost attachments on the occlusal surfaces. Additionally, the retraction of the protruded anterior teeth was made possible through distalization, IPR, and palatal expansion. Retraction of the teeth was successfully achieved using aligners alone, without the need for extractions or insertion of TADs. Class II elastics were used to reduce the overjet.
