Patient Chief Concern
Open Bite

What learning would you share with other Invisalign providers?
An open bite can be challenging to treat. Analyzing the initial case including radiographs to determine the type of movement required and whether it would be possible to perform relative intrusion (high predictability) was essential for a good result.

What contributed most to this treatment being successful?
Relative extrusion, optimized extrusion anterior and posterior intrusion

Summary

In the primary Invisalign treatment, posterior expansion with attachments G8 and anterior extrusion with optimized extrusion attachments was performed. Two Additional Aligner orders were used for anterior extrusion and, in the second, posterior intrusion was performed. Through these clinical maneuvers, we successfully completed and achieved all objectives.
