Patient Chief Concern
Dental crowding of anterior tooth and impaction of upper left canine
What learning would you share with other Invisalign providers?
It may be difficult to tract the impacted canine during aligner treatment. But successful treatment is possible at the same time if you consider utilizing aligner as an anchorage.
What contributed most to this treatment being successful?
The most difficult and successful part was obtaining an anchorage necessary for traction of impacted maxillary canine from aligner and stably moving the impacted canine to the correct position. I made button cut-out and attached lingual button on primary first molars. Unwanted movement may occur in the primary molars that connect the power chain between the impacted canines and the primary molars, but no side effects have occurred due to the aligner.
